Questions

We are a company. Do we need a shareholder agreement?

A company has a constitution or replaceable rules, but they rarely deal with exits, deadlock or what owners must contribute. A shareholder agreement fills those gaps.

What if we already have a dispute?

Get advice early. An existing agreement may set out what happens. If there is none, I can explain your options.

Is a partnership agreement the same as a shareholder agreement?

No. Partners in a partnership share liability personally. Shareholders own a company that is a separate legal entity. The agreements deal with different risks.

Can we use a template?

A template may miss what matters for your business. Getting it right now costs much less than a dispute.

Going into business together?

Agree the rules now. Fixed quote before any work starts.
