Questions

When should I contact a lawyer?

Before you sign anything or pay a deposit. Changes are easiest to negotiate before the contract is exchanged.

What is due diligence?

Checking the business before you commit: the lease, figures, equipment, staff, licences and any debts or disputes.

Does the lease transfer automatically?

No. The landlord usually has to consent, and may have conditions. This should be a condition of the sale.

Can you help with buying a dental or medical practice?

Yes. Health practices raise extra issues such as patient records, practitioner arrangements and equipment like X-ray units.

Found a business to buy?

Talk to me before you sign. Fixed quote before any work starts.
